Get a
great monitor when you build your studio computer. You
will be spending hundreds of man hours in front of this piece
of hardware so make sure it’s hot!
I chose two 19 inch monitors for my setup. They
are split with a 8inch VGA HD15. I use one screen for my
audio recording and mastering and the other for
production.
Any size will do but I like the fact that I can
really see my audio waves and MIDI data when editing.
Nothing is more intimidating than looking at Cubase SX
with all my VSTs running. Reason, Sampletank, FL Studio
or Steinberg’s Wavelab 5. Damn!!
Wireless
Keyboard & Mouse for an uncluttered computer
recording and production environment. I chose to go with
Logitech because I like their technology and design. Plus they
look great in front of a killer computer monitor. Most wireless
keyboards and mouse setups run on batteries and come with
docking stations to charge them. You should not be buying
batteries for this setup for a couple of
months.
Make sure you have a USB port available so you
can plug the wireless keyboard right in. The mouse and
the keyboard work together using radio signals or
bluetooth technology. Bluetooth provides a way to connect
and exchange information between devices like personal
digital assistants (PDAs), mobile phones, laptops, PCs,
printers and digital cameras via a secure, low-cost,
globally available short range radio
frequency.
