Guitar Recording Software
Recording Production Studio Guide for Guitar Recording
Software
Guitar software is the best thing since sliced bread for a
serious guitar player. If you have a computer and a small
project studio you cannot beat the software programs that are
available for recording.
Maybe you can’t afford Pro Tools Digi 002. If
that’s the case you are still in the game. Computer technology
has spawned a flutter of software recording companies to
accommodate both Mac and PC users with quality programs.
Guitar Recording Software
Guitar Tracks Pro
This nice piece of software from Cakewalk
digitally recreates a 32-track recorder. Guitar Tracks Pro
includes a guitar amp simulator, various effects, a
chromatic-tuner, a metronome and more.
A terrific piece of free software which allows
you to create remixes, add loops, record your own tracks, and
mixdown to mp3. Highly recommended.
Finale Guitar is a less expensive, scaled-down
version of Finale, a top-rated music notation program. Although
Finale Guitar isn't perfect for creating basic tab, and has a
learning curve, it is powerful, versatile, and provides the
opportunity to produce professional results.
A user-friendly, all-inclusive piece of
software that allows guitarists to scan sheet music, play tab
downloaded from the web, create sheet music, and even learn
about different types of guitars.
Shareware program ($40 registration fee) used
to display ChordPro formatted tab files (which include only
chords, without single notes or solos). Save and print
functions are disabled in the shareware version.
Tablature editor whose files support conversion
to ASCII, multitrack scores, rhythmic notation, score playback
with effects, printing, MIDI import/export, and more. Demo
version has some functions disabled.
